HappyRoadtripper.com was conceptualized in 2015 after creator, Kelsea Hillyer, took #thetwentyfourdaytour, a 33-day road trip around the USA.
"Halfway through the trip I started getting sad that this would be the "only" or at least the "only first" adventure I would go on at this level." Hillyer embarked on the trip after getting laid off from her job in experiential marketing, wanting to take a once-in-a-lifetime vacation before starting another job. A rare time in life that she had the freedom to go away and not have to ask the boss. "Then I realized this doesn't have to be the only time in my life I take a few weeks off and explore places I've never been. In fact, a lot of people I met during my travels do similar trips, either yearly or at least regularly. For some of them this was their first, second or 10th+ time they've done the cross country road trip. Most of them solo, like me."
Happy Roadtripper was born primarily as a resource for sharing favorite routes to drive, sights to see, safe places to sleep in your vehicle, clean places to shower and stories from the road. Check out the Forum where you can ask questions or share your stories to other Happy Roadtrippers. Kelsea shares detailed recaps of the trips she's taken on the Trips page where you can feel free to ask questions or make comments.
On happyroadtripper.com you will also find video reviews, a resource that Hillyer found she used religiously before purchasing gear, mostly, but also clothing and home goods as well.
Make yourself at home on happyroadtripper.com, ask the community questions and share your tricks of the trade, if you're willing!
